NY DMV ALLOWS MAIDEN NAMES MORE EASILY
In a move being hailed as a victory by women’s advocacy groups, the New York Department of Motor Vehicles is now providing a simpler way for married people to use their maiden names as middle names on driver’s licenses.
The DMV will only require a marriage certificate to make the change, a welcome reprieve from other methods that had proven costly and time consuming, said state assemblyman David Buchwald, D-White Palins.
